In 2019 Dottie moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, to be closer to her son Gary. While she remained a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, she also rooted for the Cincinnati Bengals. She was a retired professional model and modeling instructor, known for her glamor and fashion sense even in her later years. Dottie loved reading, animals, playing tennis, and volunteering. She was active in her community and the Catholic Church, devoting much of her time to service. Her friends and family remember her as a beauty inside and out, a woman who cherished her family, and a generous soul.
