<p>MAMOU – A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Phillip Michael Romero, who passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou at the age of 68. </p><p>Phillip Michael Romero was born on February 4, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi to Shirley and Eva Conner Romero.&nbsp; He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for two years.&nbsp; Phillip was a man of many talents including “making something out of nothing.”&nbsp; He enjoyed the study of Botany, had a green thumb and could give plants life again with his tender care.&nbsp; Phillip also made flowerpots and benches from tree branches that he had cut.&nbsp; Music and playing the guitar were two of Phillip’s greatest joys and he enjoyed all genres.&nbsp; Repairing and re-purposing &nbsp;different things brought him much pride and enjoyment.&nbsp; Phillip had a special place in his heart for children and was always eager to help them and serve as a father-figure when needed.&nbsp; This special man touched many people’s lives in a special way and he will be greatly missed by them all. </p><p>Phillip is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra Romero; four children, Dillon Romero of Iota, Lacey Epps and husband, Daniel of Danville, Virginia, Jamie Doucet and wife, Karen of Iota and Angie Andrepont and husband, Robbie of Danville, Virginia; three grandsons, Jared Daigle, Gavin Doucet, and Logan Andrepont; and granddaughter, Tori Lopez.&nbsp; Also left behind to cherish his memory are his great grandchildren, Kylar Rowles, Dean Lopez, and Carter Lopez; brothers, Allen Romero and wife, Debra, of Texas, Rickey Romero of Youngsville,&nbsp;Bo Romero and wife, Tricia of Lafayette and Timmy Romero of Healdton, Oklahoma. </p><p>Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Romero and Eva Conner Romero;&nbsp;mother and father in law, Willa Mae and Henry Lula; and sister in law, Shelley Romero. </p><p>&nbsp; Family and friends may leave condolences for the family at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com. </p><p>Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou is in charge of arrangements. </p>
