Viola B. Peugh

Viola B. Peugh, 96, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. She was born January 15, 1921 in Detroit.  She married Edwin F. Peugh on October 11, 1952, and he preceded her in death November 15, 2004. Mrs. Peugh worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII.  She later became a nurse’s aide and had worked at Berrien General Hospital for 15 years, and at area nursing homes.  She was also a homemaker, and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting. Survivors include two sons: Kenneth (Vickie) Peugh of Berrien Springs and Arnold (Cheryl) Peugh of South Bend; grandchildren: Kenny Jr., Jillian Cisnero, Wesley, Jason, Jeremiah, and Amy; and seven great-grandchildren; three stepchildren: Ed (Laurie) Peugh of California, Inez Lemon of Arizona, and Ida (Lowel) Dightman of Washington; and step-grandchildren: Scott, Alisha, Donna, Lillian, Brett and Eric; and three nieces, one nephew, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held for both Edwin and Viola Peugh at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 19, at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berrien Springs, with Pastor Ron Kelly and Associate Pastor Bruce Hayward officiating.  Inurnment of cremains will be at Union Cemetery in Berrien Township.  www.allredfuneralhome.com.
