<p>Fred Alvarez, 81, of Marfa, Texas passed away on December 10, 2022, in hospice care in Big Spring, Texas.&nbsp; </p><p>Fred Alvarez is survived by his uncle, Miguel Alvarez, of El Paso, Texas. Many other relatives and his long-time friend and caregiver Linda Aguilar of Marfa, Texas.&nbsp; </p><p>Fred is preceded in death by his mother Marta Alvarez, Grandmother Catharina Alvarez, Grandfather Victor Alvarez, Aunt Carmen Lafarelle, Uncle Daniel Alvarez, Aunt Antonia Fernanda and Aunt Lucy Ramirez. </p><p>Fred was a devout Catholic and donated to charity often. He was a teacher in Eagle Pass, Texas and Presidio, Texas for many years. After his retirement he lived in Marfa, Texas where he enjoyed collecting Ford Model A vehicles, antiques, reading books, sharing stories from his past, and sitting outside his home watching the traffic pass by.&nbsp; </p><p>Rosary will begin at 9:30 am on Monday, December 19, 2022. To follow by mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, Texas. Burial will follow at Merced Cemetery.&nbsp; </p><p>Services have been entrusted to Alpine Memorial Funeral Home in Alpine, Texas. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

Fred Alvarez, 81, of Marfa, Texas passed away on December 10, 2022, in hospice care in Big Spring, Texas. 

Fred Alvarez is survived by his uncle, Miguel Alvarez, of El Paso, Texas. Many other relatives and his long-time friend and caregiver Linda Aguilar of Marfa, Texas. 

Fred is preceded in death by his mother Marta Alvarez, Grandmother Catharina Alvarez, Grandfather Victor Alvarez, Aunt Carmen Lafarelle, Uncle Daniel Alvarez, Aunt Antonia Fernanda and Aunt Lucy Ramirez.
