Mark Clayton Damron passed away at his home over the weekend of Dec. 3rd. He was 54 years old. Mark was born in Los Angeles, California and moved with his family to Michigan in 1976 when he was 8 years old. The family settled in Ecorse and he graduated from Ecorse High School in 1986. Mark started working at DHL Supply Chain in Belleville in 1995 as a parts packer and bale operator. He worked there for 27 years until his passing and was known as a “good and kind person and a model employee.”

Mark moved to in Southgate in 2012. He was a kind person, hard-working, and very intelligent. He loved to read - especially science books. Mark loved astronomy and heavy metal music and enjoyed going to movies and visiting family in Michigan. He also enjoyed attending festivals with live music in the downriver area. During the warmer months, he could be found at Bishop Park in Wyandotte after work reading a good book. Mark enjoyed taking summer trips to Massachusetts where he visited his sister and her family.

Mark is survived by his sister Caroline Damron Quinn and her husband, Robert Quinn of Plymouth MA, and two nephews, Sean Quinn of Boston and Kyle Quinn of Plymouth, as well as his aunts, Joyce Damron of Riverview, Darlene Moore of Riverview, Theresa Toth of Wyandotte, Arizona Unseld of Grand Rapids, and uncles Donald Damron of West Virginia and David (Tony) Karto. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert L. Damron, who passed away in 2000, and his mother Julie A. Damron, who passed away in 2020.

A memorial visitation has been planned for Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Czopek Funeral Directors, 2157 Oak Street, Wyandotte, MI 48192.
