Grand Street, Monroe, LA on November 4, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 PM. This is a casual gathering of friends and family to laugh and share great memories. David is predeceased by parents, L.E. and Bonnie Hilburn and brother, Roger Hilburn. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Holtan Hilburn; brother, Don Hilburn (Pam) of Townville, South Carolina; sister-in-law Jane Herron Hilburn of Ovilla, Texas; nephews, Brent Hilburn of Midlothian, Texas and Seth Hilburn of Allen, Texas; aunt and uncle, Doris and Bill Nolan of West Monroe, Louisiana; aunt, Mavis Johnston Boney of West Monroe, Louisiana. Dave graduated West Monroe High School in 1981 and Louisiana Tech University in 1986 and 1987 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. Following graduation from college he worked for Schlumberger for a brief period of time and the remainder of his career for Nalco with whom he traveled the world on assignments. David will be remembered for his open and inviting personality. He never met a stranger and was always up for an adventure; 'C'mon, let's go' was his usual response to a request for action. He traveled the world and left friends on nearly every continent. We were all voyagers on his trips by following his postings of pictures of the places he visited. His passion was fishing in the marshes along the Gulf for redfish and speckled trout. You will be missed David.
