Frank Rizzo DeCavalcante Obituary
Dr. Frank Paul Rizzo DeCavalcante of West Windsor was 78 years old. He passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Trenton, NJ he graduated from Trenton Central High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont, and his doctorate in Victorian Literature from Kent State University. He fulfilled his life's passion as an English teacher in Hamilton, Lawrenceville and Flemington where he became Supervisor of World Languages then Curriculum Director of Humanities at Hunterdon Central High School. He was respected and loved by his peers and students.
He loved reading, traveling, directing school plays but most of all a multitude of endearing and lasting friendships. Frank enjoyed New York theatre productions and movies.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Simone Rizzo and Mary (Abrams) DeCavalcante, He is survived by his devoted significant other Claudio Marticorena of 43 years; his two beloved brothers, Robert and wife Kathy, Carl and wife Cindy; three nephews, Michael, Simone, and Samuel DeCavalcante; a niece, Cynthia DeCavalcante-Nurse; a great nephew, Tristan DeCavalcante; and two great nieces, Ryan and Alexandra Nurse; as well as many friends.
Christian funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 12:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may pay their respects Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM till noon.
