Ching Szeto Yu
In loving memory of our beloved mother, Ching Szeto Yu, who was born on 10/6/1937 in Gong Dong, Hoi Ping, China. She left us peacefully at Asian Community Center Nursing Facility, Sacramento, California on May 22, 2017 at age 79. She moved to Hong Kong when she was eighteen to be united with her mother Sau Tam (deceased). She met her husband Man Kai Yu (deceased) in Hong Kong and married in May 6, 1957. The family immigrated to Sacramento in 1976. Here she worked for cannery, and also as a seamstress. She became a US citizen on February 28, 1983 so her mother can immigrate here to be with the family. She enjoyed cooking good food for her family, liked to play Mahjong with friends and family, occasionally traveled back to Hong Kong. She has five daughters and one son: Julie Won (Juan), Judy Yu (William), Wendy Chow (Sam), Shirley Yu, Jeannie Cheung (Jerry), and Michael Yu (Greg). She has eleven grandchildren, Alan, Alex, Adam, Pearl, Kevin, Alvin, Annie, Stacy, Sarah, Justina, and Jessica, also has a great grandson Andrew. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted a lot of her time to care for her elderly mother, children and grandchildren. The viewing and funeral services will be held at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9189 East Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624 The viewing is on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10am.
