Frances Dianne Freeman Obituary

Frances Dianne Freeman beloved mother of Jessica Johnson, wife of Jadie R Freeman Sr, Grannie Frannie to her five grandkids: Chris Freeman, David Knox, Caleb Freeman, Sarah Freeman and Norah Freeman passed away on December 2, 2022 due to covid after a long bout with Parkinson’s. Reverend Heath Kirkwood will conduct the service. Music will be provided by Donnie and Vickie Savage. Visitation will be at Pecan Grove Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11. The funeral service will be Monday, December 12, at the same location. Private family graveside service will follow in Dallas. The family requests that masks be worn at visitation and funeral.


Fran was born in Dallas, TX on May 20. 1951. She attended school in Cleburne, Amarillo and graduated from Bryan Adams High School in May of 1969. She went on to Baylor University where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in English. Fran graduated cum laude in May 1973 with a BA. She was a member of CHI’s, Mortar Board and participated in the Leakey Leadership Lab.


She married Jadie Freeman Sr on July 26, 1996. She volunteered at Mission Waco/Mission World, Food for Families and the food pantry at the First Baptist Church in Lorena, TX. She was active in the Telephone Pioneers of American and served at the president of the Waco Council.

Fran started her working career at Southwestern Bell/American Telephone and Telegraph in 1973. She retired in 2001 after 28 ½ years. She then began traveling with her husband Jadie, on his new job throughout Texas and the rest of the country including Hawaii. She did this until he retired in 2012 from Tellabs Inc.


She was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles R Mason and Aliene Mason; grandparents, Ralph and Edith Kreymer, Ruth and Luther Mason; aunt and uncle, James and Betty Mason; aunt and uncle, Mary Houston and Marshall Houston. She is also preceded by her beloved animals: Wiggles, Freeway and Zorro.


Those surviving her are: her sister, Char Link; her husband, Jadie Freeman Sr; daughter, Jessica Johnson and husband Brandon; Jadie Freeman JR and wife Lauren, Vanessa Ochoa and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Chris, David, Caleb, Sarah and Norah. She is also survived by Beverly and Dennis Casey, Jim and Sandra Mason, and Dr. Mike and Dr. Jody Westbrook.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mission Waco/Mission World or the Parkinson’s Research Foundation.
