Doug Dougal White Obituary

Doug “Dougal” White, 64 of Mt. Alto, WV, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2022.

He was born on October 21, 1958 in Charleston, WV, to the late Romie Elton White and Carolyn Sue Johnson White.

Doug was a Christian by faith and loved his family.

Doug was a 1977 graduate of Ripley High School. He was a journeyman lineman for local 71 and was recently honored for 45 years of service with the IBEW. Doug loved his career and was very proud of it. He got to help restore power to all 50 states, even Puerto Rico. He worked with people from all around the world making some great friendships. He was fond of all his lineman “brothers”.

To know Doug was to love him. He had the biggest heart and would help anyone he could.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Tina White; son, Jonathan Ashworth of Cottageville, WV; daughter, Charity Ashworth of Ravenswood, WV; daughters, Megan Thornburg and Brittani Bowser of Parkersburg, WV; sister, Angela (Chris) Negley of Cross Lanes, WV; grandchildren, Olivia Ashworth and Addison Enoch. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Doug loved chasing storms, so per the family’s request, please wear casual or work (storm) attire and hardhats.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Jeff Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, WV.
