James K. McDonald

<p>East Greenbush James Kirby McDonald, 82,died Monday, December 5, 2022 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home. Born in Troy New York to the late Walter and Catherine (Shaughnessy) McDonald. He was an Eagle Scout as a young man graduated from Lansingburgh high and joined the United States Army in 1963 to 1965 stationed in Vietnam and Alaska. He served as an honor guard or Gen. McArthur''''''''s funeral in Norfolk Virginia. Jim worked for Ford Motor Company for 32 years as a machine operator in Green Island. He was a member of the Melvin Roads American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, life member of the Lansingburgh disabled veterans. Jim was an avid sports fan for the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, he collected coins, enjoyed reading newspaper, the casino, dancing, travel and going to the beach but most of all spending time with family especially his grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his wife of 55 years Averill(Paul) McDonald children Deborah Ann (Dan) Davis; Richard Kirby (Mimi) McDonald; brothers Patrick (Mary) McDonald; Richard (Christine) McDonald sisters ; Ann VicDominie; and Ellen (Frank) DeCrescenzo. grandchildren Jesse and Sara Davis. he is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents predeceased by brother Walter McDonald and sisters Mary Lou McDonald and Joan Darcy.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Thursday from 10:00am -12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm in the Rockefeller funeral home 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer. Interment will be in Saratoga national Cemetery at 2:00pm with milltary honors.</p>
