<p>Norman D. Marsolek, 78 of Wabasha, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.</p><p><br></p><p>Norman Dennis was born September 2, 1944, in Detroit, MI, to Edward and Angeline (Skudlarek) Marsolek. He graduated from Royalton High School, Royalton, MN. On July 29, 1967, he married Sonja Rae Johnson and this past July, they celebrated 55 years of marriage. Together they raised three children: Michael, Dawn, and Heidi.</p><p><br></p><p>He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on August 18, 1962 and served on the USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7). He was honorably discharged on January 16, 1965, with his reserve duty ending on August 12, 1968. He was a die cutter for Tension Envelope for 40 years, retiring in 2005.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha and during retirement enjoyed fishing, traveling, puzzles and gardening.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Sonja; three children: Michael Marsolek, Dawn (Paul Dickey) Rekdahl; and Heidi (Bill) Flint; five grandchildren: Alex (Kim) Rekdahl; Andrea (Tony) Dahlberg; Jacob Flint; Ryan Flint; and Charles Dickey; five great grandchildren: Gracie, Abby, Megan, Rowan, and Emersyn; sisters: Terri (Al) Irlbeck and Karen (Bruce) Pollock; brothers: Duane (Sharon) Marsolek and Lowell Marsolek; and other relatives.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Raphael (sister-in-law Annette) Marsolek; sister-in-law Pat Marsolek; nephews: Dion Pollock and Chad Marsolek.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha with Reverend Prince Raja officiating. Interment with military honors will be at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday December 10 at the church.</p><p><br></p><p>The family recommends that any memorials be directed to the charity of your choice.</p><p><br></p><p>Services entrusted to Abbott Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, Wabasha, MN.
