Mrs. Mary Alice Rigdon Beverly, 82, passed away Wednesday (November 30, 2022) at her residence in Waycross following an extended illness.

She was born in Ware County to the late Ernest Desso Rigdon and Mary Priscilla Strickland Rigdon. She was a homemaker most of her life and attended High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ronnie J. Beverly; the mother who raised her, Varrah Simpson; and a brother, Carlton Simpson.

She is survived by her four children, Allen Beverly (Pamela) of Waycross, Ronnie J. Beverly, Jr. (Denise) of Waycross, Cheryl Pickett (Matthew) of Atlanta, and Pam Beverly Douglas of Waycross; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, C.H. Simpson of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (December 3, 2022) at High Bluff Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock.
