Clark Powell Jones

<p>Clark Powell Jones was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business-Administration. Clark’s business career included Pfizer Inc. and broadcasting during family ownership of various radio stations in which he was awarded the AP Sportscaster Award. His civic activities include the Wesley Forum Sunday School Class of Brentwood United Methodist Church, The Citadel Alumni Club, a Paul Harris Fellow during participation of the Rotary Club, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.</p><p><br></p><p>Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Elizabeth (Powell) and Herman Otto Jones, and sister and brother, Gloria Jean and Herman Otto Jones Junior. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Evelyn (Eddins); son and daughter, C. Powell Jones Junior and Meredith Elizabeth (Jones) O’Brien; and son-in-law, John E. O’Brien. Clark’s surviving grandchildren are John Eddins O’Brien, Megan Elizabeth O’Brien, Clark Powell Jones III, and Kylie Elizabeth and Erin Nicole Jones.</p><p><br></p><p>Family, friends, and the love of travel gave Clark pure joy. He and Mary Evelyn were blessed with the opportunity to travel internationally and to nearly all countries. Clark’s quick wit and personality made him the life of any and all events wherever he was. He will be greatly missed and celebrated from here on out.</p><p><br></p><p>The celebration of Clark’s life will be Thursday, December 1st at Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd, Brentwood, TN, with visitation at 1:00 pm and the service following at 2:00 pm; the interment will be in the columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Towler-Wesley Forum Foundation of Brentwood United Methodist Church, Cheekwood, 1200 Forrest Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37205, or The Citadel Foundation, made to The Citadel Alumni Association, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29409-0001.</p><p><br></p><p>To leave a condolence or share a fond memory of Clark with the family visit the Tribute Wall.</p>
