Harris Robert “Bob” Rees died on November 28th, 2022, at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Horseheads, NY. He was 94 years old.  Bob was born on November 24th, 1928, in Elmira, NY, where he lived most of his life.  He was the son of Arthur E. and Esther P. Rees.  He was predeceased by his only son, Robert H. Rees. Surviving are his daughters, Susan R. Van Asdale (Gary) of Pensacola, FL, and Elizabeth P. Rees of Louisville, OH. Also surviving are his sister, Joy Hoffman (Dr. James Norton) of Elmira; and five grandchildren, James F. Van Asdale, Joel D. Van Asdale (Jennifer), Evelyn M. Dodd (Bryan), Sarah E. Jones, and Robert E. Jones; as well as a niece and nephew; two beautiful great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Bill Summers. Mr. Rees attended Rider University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing at Syracuse University. He served in the military in the CIA during the Korean Conflict from 1951 – 1953. In 1954, he married Gene (Eugenia) Brobst Rees (Sexton). He spent most of his career working in sales, most notably selling computers for Univac. He also worked for Bell & Howell. His favorite pastime was ballroom dancing. Bob was a member of several dance groups in the Elmira area and enjoyed dancing into his nineties. His family would like to acknowledge and extend their appreciation to the staff at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the great care given to Harris during the past three and a half years.
