Thomas R. Boyd, 82, of Philipsburg, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at his home. Born on January 7, 1940 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Thomas R. Boyd Sr. and Erma (Lee) Boyd. Tom was a graduate of Philipsburg High School and received both Bachelor’s degree in Education and Master’s degree in Education from Penn State University. He retired from West Branch School District where he taught for 35 years. Tom was a member of the First Baptist Church, PSEA, Friends of the Library and the former Philipsburg Country Club. He had served on the 1st Ward of the Philipsburg Borough Council for more than a quarter of a century and had a particular interest in the development of Cold Stream & Project 70 . Tom enjoyed walking at Cold Stream with his faithful companion, his border collie, Sky, and could always be seen making his rounds, either walking or driving, throughout the community each day. Friends will be received at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Thursday, December 1, from 10am until the hour of service at 11am.
