<p>EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lenese J. Mire announces his passing on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his home at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Ortego Cemetery with Father Raymond Ssebina, Celebrant. </p><p> Lenese was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a truck driver who worked until he was 80 years old. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife, Berna Mire of Eunice; his sons, Kenneth Mire of Eunice, Mitchell Paul Mire and wife, Alisa of Vidrine, and Brent Mire of Eunice; brothers, Wilbert Mire and wife, Loma of Church Point and Gerald Mire of Arnaudville; sisters, Connie Cole of Lawtell, Charlene Mallet of Leonville, and Beulah Soileau and husband, Berchman of Opelousas; five grandchildren, Garrett Mire and wife, Kelly, Justin Mire and wife, Alyssa, Abbie Mire, Devon Mire, and Timothy Mire; one great grandchild, Weston Mire; as well as extended family and friends. </p><p> He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eugene Sonnier Mire; great grandson, Stetson Paul Mire; and siblings, Clarence Mire, Jr., Thelma Bodin, and Robert Mire. </p><p> At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, November 29th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, November 30th from 8:00 am until time of services.
