<p>Mr. John Raymond Collins, 81, died Saturday evening (November 26, 2022) at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born September 15, 1941 in Savannah, GA to the late Raymond Jake Collins and Dorothy Marie Gilbert Collins. Mr. Collins graduated from the first graduating class of Ware County High School in 1959. In May of 1960, he began working at ACL Railroad as a machinist. Mr. Collins retired from CSX Railroad in January of 2002 after almost 42 years of service. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Arline Lane Collins; daughter, Karen Victoria Collins; sisters, Linda Mock Stone and Diane Collins McClanahan; maternal grandparents, W.C. and Mae Gilbert; and paternal grandparents, Lum and Keller Collins.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include two sons, David Edward Collins of Nahunta, and Brian Keith Collins of Blackshear; grandson, Jordyn Oliver Collins; two brothers, Michael Mock of Rock Hill, SC, and R. W. Mock (Melanie) of McDonough, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday (December 1, 2022) at Music Funeral Home.
