NEW BEDFRD-Margaret (Olival) Branchaud Giannelli, 91, of New Bedford, died Friday, November 25, 2022 at Our Lady's Haven following a lengthy period of declining health due to Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of Aldo Giannelli, the widow of Gerald Branchaud and daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Andrade) Olival.

Born in New Bedford, she was a lifelong resident and was a parishioner of the former St. John the Baptist Church. Mrs. Giannelli was a 1950 graduate of New Bedford High School.

She was employed as a banker with the Morris Plan and following several mergers with Old Stone Bank, NBIS and Fleet Bank, she ultimately retired from Bank of America.

Her family includes her husband, Aldo Giannelli of New Bedford; her sons, Steven A. Branchaud and his wife, Anne of New Bedford and the late Paul Branchaud (wife, Pamela of Southborough, MA); her daughter, Susan Lemery and her husband, Maurice of New Bedford; her step-sons, Edward Giannelli and his wife, Clara of So. Dartmouth and Richard Giannelli and his wife, Katherine of Wareham; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late John Olival, Americo Olival and Lucy Kwiecien.

Her service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. Visitation prior to the service from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery #1.
