Colrain, MA: Carole Adams, 76 passed away peacefully at Whispering Pines Farm, her beloved home in the Griswoldville section of Colrain, after an illness, on November 23, 2022. She was surrounded by all of her loving children, her many sheep, chickens, cats, and several other barnyard friends. Born Carole Utley in Holyoke, to the late William Utley and Ann Utley-Deline, Carole grew up in Holyoke, where she started her family before moving to Belchertown. After her children were grown, she lived in Port Deposit, Maryland, where she delighted in spending time with her many relatives there. Carole eventually moved to Colrain where she vigorously pursued her passions to the fullest, which were tending to her animals, gardening, making soaps and salves, herbal remedies, rug hooking and spinning wool from her sheep to make fine woolen wear that she sold to people at the many crafts fairs she attended locally, and up and down the east coast. Carole’s wool output was so prolific that she had a special “loom room” in her house to store the abundant rainbow-colored yarn spools, antique spinning wheels and table looms. Carole doted on her many grandchildren, relished family picnics at Look Park, blueberry picking, trips to Chesterfield and felt very fortunate to have visited Ireland several times, which she enjoyed immensely. Carole leaves behind her children, Cynthia Ravosa and her husband Richard, of Wayland, MA, David Adams and his wife Lauren, of Colrain, Elizabeth Adams and her husband Jason Spellacy, of Loris, SC, as well as her grandchildren, Richard III, Christopher, Téa, Dylan, Lil, Catarina, Tyler, Charles, her many other relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews and the many animals on her farm who will miss her dearly, along with her family. Carole’s children extend their gratitude to the nurses at Baystate Medical Center, Encompass Health Rehab and to the local hospice nurses who compassionately cared for Carole in her final days. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040 on December 2nd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at Forestdale Cemetery at 304 Cabot Street, Holyoke, Massachusetts, 01040. Please follow the arrows from front entrance of cemetery to the grave site.
