William J. 'Bill' Johnson, Sr.

<p>William J. ‘Bill’ Johnson, Sr., 57 of Steubenville, OH, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Bill was born April 4, 1965, in Steubenville, son of the late William W. Johnson and Patricia J. (Frey) Longo. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Bill worked as a diesel mechanic at the bus garage for Indian Creek Schools for over 20 years. H was so much to so many. He was a father figure, a shoulder to cry, a back for someone in need, and a hero to many. He loved his dog Chester, his bud light, and his quarters too! </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary ‘Opie’ Johnson, who raised him, and his brother, John David ‘Bird’ Johnson. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Bill leaves behind his daughter, Ashly (Marshall Buxton) Johnson and son, William ‘Billy’ (Ang) Johnson, Jr., both of PA; stepdaughters, Nicole ‘Nikki’ (Brian) Potts and Ashley Horner, and stepson Justin Horner all of Toronto, OH; sisters, Barb (Curtis) Dray of Steubenville, Brenda (Joe) Staffilino of Mingo Jct., Candy (Doug) Sutherin of Toronto; brothers, Robert ‘Bob’ Johnson of Massillon, OH , and Donald Longo of Steubenville; close companion, Annie Wade of Weirton, WV; ex-wife and mother of his children, Lynn Henderson of PA; sister-in-law, Roberta Johnson of Toronto; grandchildren, Ava, Onnicka, Joseph, Riley, Braylon, Dre, and Ethan; many nieces, nephews, and so many friends who became family. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>A memorial dinner to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 at 6 pm at the Pottery Addition Fire Hall. William J. ‘Bill’ Johnson, Sr., 57 of Steubenville, OH, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022.

 

Bill was born April 4, 1965, in Steubenville, son of the late William W. Johnson and Patricia J. (Frey) Longo.
