Rosetta Harlin Obituary

Rosetta Rochelle Harlin was born April 15, 1938, to Lizzie Mae Malone and John Henry Herring in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by both parents; her sister and brother, JC White, and Henretta McGowan; one daughter, Eunice Misher; and one son, Anthony Andrews-Harlin.

Rosetta lived in Daytona Beach, FL, and Georgia before moving to Oklahoma where she met her life partner, Lawrence Harlin. Both had one child and together while living in Oklahoma, they added another child to the family. They then packed up and moved to Kansas City, MO where they added another 7 children to the family for a total of 10 children. They decided to make Kansas City their home and raise their children there. Rosetta worked as a nurse for several nursing facilities throughout Kansas City and later went on to start a career in private duty nursing for the elderly. Rosetta also loved spending time with her church family, St. Marks Baptist Church. She also volunteered with organizations like Mission in Action, New Era District, and other church organizations and events. She loved working to help with City Union Mission and other charities throughout Kansas City. She really enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling back home to visit family, and attending reunions and reconnecting with loved ones that she had not seen in a while. Other hobbies included crocheting knitting puzzles and playing solitaire.

Rosetta leaves to cherish 8 children, Angela Harlin, Edward Andrews, Phyllis Strozier (Charles), David Andrews, Linda Boyd (Alfred), Johnny Harlin, Monique Hensley (Morris), and Lawrence Blue; one sister, Deloris Collins; 11 grandchildren, LaQuita Fuhr, LaTisha Harlin, Lenora Harlin, Micaela Harvey (Greg), Carl Harlin, Crystal Harlin, David Andrews, Jordan Strozier, Candace Deere, Terry Misher, and Carstillo Misher; one special son, Paul Rhodes; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. We also want to extend a special thanks to the Oklahoma family for all the love and support. You all have been a blessing and Rosetta really enjoyed seeing you and hearing your prayers when she really needed them. Thank you to Joe Ellis Wilson (Sandra), Corinthians Wilson (Darryl), Danny K. Wilson (Janice), Troy Lee Wilson, and Rickey Wilson (Sharron).
