James “Jim” Finn, aka as “DC”, age 76 of Milton passed away peacefully on Nov 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judith, his children Kylie (Jeff) and Ryan (Amber) and his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Lauren, Taylor, Emma, Rowan and Sydney. Jim also leaves behind his sister Janice (Kenneth) Syer and his brother Ron Finn. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne (Lorne) Arthur and brothers Doug (Willie) Peddie and Jim (Audrey) Peddie. He is also survived by his brother-in-law John (Linda) Inglis and sisters-in-law Bonnie (Ben) Nyholt and Debbie (Gary) Balloch.

Jim was born and raised in Milton and spent his life giving back to the community. He worked for the Town of Milton in the Operations Department for 44 years. Additionally, he served alongside the brave men and women in the Milton Fire Department for 47 years and 6,000+ calls, retiring from the role of District Chief in 2021. Upon retirement, Jim focused his attention on his grandchildren, following their many endeavors and so proudly witnessing their many accomplishments.

Jim’s infectious smile, giving nature, and love for others would light up any room. Jim was a true giver. He never turned away an opportunity to help someone in need, be it a helpful hand or a simple chat, and he never expected anything in return. In retirement, you could often find him deep in conversation with his friends over a coffee or playing poker with his “buddies”.

Service will commence at 1pm at the Connect Centre, 121 Chisholm Drive, followed by a visitation with reception afterwards on Saturday December 3, 2022.
