Arthur J. Carpenter, Sr., 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at IU Health-Bloomington Hospice House.  

Arthur was the son of Howard W. and Edna May (Grear) Carpenter born in Edon, Ohio on October 9, 1944. Arthur was employed by Cross Paint and Body where he was well known in the area for having the best talent of the restoration of bent auto frames.  His talents also extended to Bowling where he spent many evening hours enjoying the lanes with his friends.  He and Betty enjoyed camping with their children and grandchildren and  he and Betty traveled extensively with the Corvette Plus Club attending car shows and events throughout the country.

Arthur was a loving Father to his Children, Carrie Richardson of Ellettsville, Greg Reinhardt of Xenia, OH, Sonny Reinhardt of Germany, Arthur "A.J." Carpenter, Jr. of Ft. Wayne and Candis Jordan of Bloomington; He was Papaw to Twelve Grandchildren and "Grumpy" to his Seven Great-Grandchildren.  Arthur and Betty, being the caring people they were, took in several children throughout their marriage and were lovingly called Dad, Mom, Grandma and Papaw by countless others.

He was preceded in death by Wife, Betty J. Carpenter; Father, Howard W. Carpenter and Mother, Edna May Carpenter.
