James Arthur Davis Sr. Obituary

James Arthur Davis, age 81, of Neenah passed away peacefully on Thursday November 24, 2022 after a short illness. Jim was born on April 23, 1941 in Oshkosh son of the late John and Alice (Kendall) Davis. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1959. Jim was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Air Force where he was involved in many helicopter missions. He married Barbara Rehorst in 1967 and she survives him. Jim enjoyed gambling, going to the casino, playing cards with the group at Briarwood Cottages, camping at Captains Cove, driving and taking road trips. He also loved football and watching the Green Bay Packers. He started working at Gilbert Paper in 1965 and worked there until it closed, then he retired. Jim was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans in Oshkosh.

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara; his children, Lisa (Scott) O’Connor, James (Trina) Davis Jr., and Robert (Laurie) Davis. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, a brother, John K. Davis, and a brother-in-law Joe (Linda) Rehorst, nieces and nephews.



Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah. Military Honors will be performed by the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.



The family would like to thank the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Theda Care Appleton for taking such good care of him during his three week stay and also the Gold Cross paramedics and Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue.
