Rev. Thomas LeCount Wynne Sr. was born on December 25, 1957, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to the late Rev. Thomas and Mattie Lee Wynne. He was united in holy matrimony to Ellen Pruden on August 4, 1979. Together they have three sons, Thomas L. Wynne Jr. (Tabitha), Trae L. Wynne (Channing), and Trent L. Wynne; three grandsons, Jordan T. Wynne, Thomas K. Wynne, and Aaron H. Haynes; and three granddaughters, Ta’Najah M. Wynne, Amiyah L. Wynne, and Kennedy G. Wynne.

He graduated from Lafayette High School, Williamsburg, Virginia, with the Class of 1977. He received an associate degree in ministry from Boyce Bible College. He was ordained as a deacon at CBC World Ministries in November of 1985, was licensed to preach the gospel on October 25, 1992, and was ordained as a Reverend on March 22, 2003.  Rev. Wynne was an associate minister at CBC World ministries, where over the years, he coordinated the Junior and youth choir activities, vacation bible school, adult Sunday school, youth and adult bible studies, and singles ministry.

He was affiliated with the Wakefield Virginia Ministers Conference Center. Rev. Wynne served as the youth minister at Keystone Youth Center for seven years.

Rev. Wynne was a dedicated foster parent for many years and was heavily involved in the community holding various leadership positions, including vice president of the Chickahominy Community Improvement Organization, board member for the Williamsburg-James City County Community Action Agency, liaison for the Youth Aeronautics Educational Foundation, advisory committee for Crestar Bank, James City County Advisory Committee for Housing, vice chair for the Upper County Coalition of Churches, consultant for the Colonial Services Board, coach for the Neighborhood Basketball League since its inception, Williamsburg Parks and Recreation volleyball and Basketball coach, and James City Jaguars assistant football coach.

Rev. Wynne retired from Dominion Energy after thirty years of dedicated service. Over the years, he utilized his extensive knowledge of electrical distribution systems by holding various roles within operations, construction, maintenance, and repair.

Uncle “BUCK,” as he was so affectionately known, had a heart full of kindness, compassion, and generosity, and his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. Most importantly, Rev. Thomas Wynne loved to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a servant of God who led by example to his family, friends, and community.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of forty-three years, Ellen Wynne; three sons, Thomas L. Wynne Jr. (Tabitha), Trae L. Wynne (Channing), and Trent L. Wynne; three grandsons, Jordan T. Wynne, Thomas K. Wynne, and Aaron H. Haynes; three granddaughters, Ta’Najah M. Wynne, Amiyah L. Wynne, and Kennedy G. Wynne; two step-grandchildren, Kylie A. Springs and Lauryn A. Springs; sisters, Viola Jones (Leland), Thomastine Wynne, Glendora Wynne Johnson, Zolena Wynne; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Thomas and Mattie Lee Wynne; sister, Elizabeth Turner; and brother, Daniel Wynne Sr.  He was truly loved throughout the community by an abundance of people who considered him a brother, father, and grandfather, including his close friend and neighbor, Ivey Boyd, and foster son, Jovan Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Bethel Restoration Center, with Apostle Corwin Hammond officiating.  Live stream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Rev. Wynne may be viewed from 10:00 am until the start of service. Interment to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 3279 Chickahominy Rd., Toano, Va. 23168, by 10:00 am.
