Patrick Joseph Northcott Obituary

Patrick Joseph Northcott

January 3, 1944 – November 24, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather Joseph Northcott on November 24, 2022 surrounded by his devoted family at the Western Health Palliative Care Unit at the age of 78.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Joan (nee Cluett). To quote one of his grandchildren, the way they cared for and laughed with one another was the epitome of “relationship goals”. He will be sorely missed by his daughters Sandra (Allan Brent MacIsaac) and Diane (Michael Walker), grandchildren Heather and Andrew MacIsaac and Katie and Joseph Walker. He also leaves to mourn his sister Mary (the late Mike) McCarthy, brother David (Carol Anne) Northcott, his brothers-in-law Brian McCormack, Derrick (Bonnie) Cluett, Clayton (Patricia) Cluett, Murray Payne and sisters-in-law Patricia Northcott, Doreen Northcott and Sandra (Harold) Northcott.

He will be lovingly remembered by a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Sarah Northcott, his father and mother-in-law, Everett and Myrtle Cluett and his siblings Andrew (Sadie) Northcott, Loretta Payne, Beth (Danny) Ash, Bernadette McCormack, Kevin Northcott, and Jim Northcott as well as his sister-in-law Anne (Bud) Wiseman.

As we say goodbye, we will remember his strong work ethic as the founder of J.N. Automotive Supply Ltd., his absolute love of his family, his strong faith and his strength as he faced many medical challenges. As a seller of automotive parts and a multi-organ transplant recipient, he often joked he should have written a book called, “New and Used Parts”.

The family would like to thank their amazing friends for their support over the years and extend a special thank you to Gary and Velda Cassell, Chris and Dianne Alexander, and Brian McCormack, for only ever being a phone call away regardless of the time of day or night. In addition, they would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff that have taken such incredible care of him during his medical journeys and they extend a sincere thank you to the pharmacy team at Lawton’s Drugs in Deer Lake who kindly and professionally answered all of his questions.

Friends are invited to join the family at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, on Sunday, November 27th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Joe’s Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Parish on Monday, November 28th at 11 am with Father Anthony Anh officiating. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to the Western Regional Hospital Foundation or the Deer Lake Regional Food Bank.
