Sandra Lynn Arseneault Obituary

Sandra Arseneault

December 24th, 1957 - Tuesday, November 15th, 2022

Sandra Arseneault, beloved wife of Larry Arseneault, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on November 15th, 2022 at 64 years old.

She was the loving mother of Matthew Arseneault of Calgary, Alberta and Nathaniel and his wife, Ermilyn Arseneault of Calgary, Alberta. She will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings Diane Wilms, Sheila Tarnasky, and Juanita Melville; nieces Rhea Robertson and Tanya Wilms; and nephews Jamie Wilms, Stephan Wilms, Scott Tarnasky, Jeffrey Tarnasky, Jonathan Melville, and James Melville. Sandra was predeceased by Edwin Raessler and Glenda Stapleton.

Sandy Arseneault loved God and was passionate about the Bible and people. She grew up and resided in Calgary, Alberta for most of her life. She was the wife of Larry Arseneault for over 40 years before her passing. She was a caring mother to her sons Matthew and Nathaniel, and always the kind of person who would be interested in others and what they had to say. If you ever needed help with something she was always there and willing, especially to those who knew her well. Matthew and Nathaniel jokingly laugh when they remember the time that she accidentally dropped a cactus on Matthew’s back when they were kids! Those were good memories.

Sandy was persistent in the things that mattered most. She stayed by her husband Larry through good times and bad, led a Bible study for almost 2 decades, and was a faithful, trustworthy, and hardworking employee until the time of her passing. She also loved to learn, and knew something about almost everything. She loved to read, make candles, ointments, and oils, and had a hidden talent for drawing too. Before she passed Sandy was working on making a children’s book. She also took reflexology and business classes at various times in her life. Sandy fondly recalled being in Girl Guides and volunteering in senior's homes, which must’ve shaped her into the helpful, resourceful, and compassionate woman that she was.

Traveling was something that Sandy had fond memories of. She went to Mexico as a child with her family, London as a young adult, and tropical places in her early years of marriage such as the Bahamas and Kawaii. She later went to other destinations such as New Brunswick, and various locations in BC and Alberta. In her early years of motherhood, she enjoyed weekends camping in the woods and hiking in the mountains with good friends and family.

Sandy, you will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by both those who knew you a short time and those who knew you a long time. From your friends, Church family, biological family, coworkers, and all who knew you, we send our love to you and are giving you a hug because we know that you are doing the same for us. May you rest peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We love you!

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Choice Memorial (#105 - 4715 13th Street NE, Calgary, AB).
