Noel Arthur Donovan Obituary

Noel A. Donovan

November 29, 1959 - November 22, 2022

Noel’s sudden and untimely passing has left us heartbroken. Surrounded by the love of his family, Noel passed away at St. Clare’s Hospital on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, just one week before his 63rd birthday.

Left with loving memories; his wife of 37 years Karen; his sons, Michael and Justin; their wives, Amanda and Nicole; and his darling granddaughters, Lilly and Olivia, the joys of his life.

Noel also leaves behind his special sister Marguerite (Don) Hanlon; sisters Anita Reynolds and Corita Donovan, his sisters-in-law Phyllis Weir, Sheri (Craig) Soleim, Elizabeth Donovan and Theresa Donovan; and his Aunt Lucy Meaney. Also leaving many nieces, nephews, extended family members and numerous good friends including those at Mountain View RV Park, Clarke’s Beach.

Noel is now reunited with his parents, Ambrose and Annie Donovan of Goulds; Karen’s parents, Herbie and Marguerite “Mudder” Weir of Petty Harbour; and his siblings Jimmy Donovan, Larry Donovan and Eddie Donovan.

Noel is lovingly remembered for his sharp-witted sense of humour. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was blessed that he and Karen built their home and raised “the boys” in a park-like setting surrounded by nature on Donovan’s Lane. Noel was happiest working in the garden and often toiled late into the night to create a pond or a skating rink. “Lilly’s Loop,” another of Noel’s labours of love, is a walking trail around the perimeter of their property. Lilly and Olivia will enjoy Poppy Donovan’s special places for many years to come.

The Donovan family extend their thanks to the health professionals who cared for Noel during his brief time at St. Clare’s Hospital, Rev. Wayne Parsons and Father Keith Sheppard. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, neighbours, and the staff at Barrett’s Funeral Home for their overwhelming kindness, compassion and support.
