Esther Lou Duncan was born in Florence County

November 26, 1948 to the late Jessie Henneghan and

Queen Hall Henneghan. Esther answered the divine call

from God on November 20, 2022.

Esther was affectionally called “Lou Lilla,” a sister, an

aunt, co-worker but most of all she was proud to be

called mom and grandmom.

Esther was educated in the public schools of Florence

County and graduated from Carver High School, Lake

City SC in 1966. After high school Esther relocated

and lived most of her adult life in the states of

Pennsylvania and Florida raising her family. For more

than 30 years she was faithfully employed in the

hospitality and retail industry at hotels such as Marriott

Resorts and Sleep Inn where she retired as.

housekeeping manager.

Earlier in life Esther joined the Olive Grove Baptist

Church in Coward, SC. While residing in Carlisle,

Pennsylvania she enjoyed regularly attending Bibleway

Church.

Upon her retirement Esther returned to the Olive Grove

community in Coward. She enjoyed visiting with her

children and grandchildren, cleaning, nurturing her

flowers and lawn, reading the bible, listening to music

and walking her pet dog “Blu.”

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, five

brothers: Jessie L. Henneghan, Lucious Henneghan,

Ottie Henneghan, Andrew Henneghan and Robert L.

Henneghan. One sister: Jessie M. Nesmith.

Esther leaves the memories of her life to be forever

cherished by her loving children; Crystal Dickey of

Orlando Florida, and Daniel D. Allen of Jacksonville,

Fla.; bonus children Eddie Akins and Keisha Akins of

Orlando Fla. six grandchildren, Tierany Dickey,

Christian Dickey, Arionna Dickey, Apryl Dickey,

Victoria Dickey all of Orlando, Fla. and Daniel Allen, Jr.

of Columbia, SC two sisters, Patricia Henneghan of

Carlisle, Pa. and Ida Mae (Spencer) Brooks of Camden,

SC; two brothers Henry Henneghan. of Kokomo,

Indiana..and Frank (Helen) Henneghan of Eastover, SC;
