<p>It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wesley Bertel Ballantyne, late of Sturgeon Lake, SK on November 23rd, 2022, at the age of 58 years. Wes was born on January 7th, 1964, in Prince Albert, SK to Stanley &amp; Ruth Ballantyne. Wesley is survived by his wife of 38 years Nora Ballantyne; his sons Frank Ballantyne, Trevor (Trisha) Ballantyne, Alfred (Emily) Ballantyne, Clifford Ballantyne, &amp; Lazarus (Jolene) Ballantyne; his daughter Maggie (Billy) Ballantyne; his grandchildren Brandon, Seth, Draysen, Serenity, Brittany, Jericho, Raincloud, Desmond, Elizabeth, Paul, Tammy, &amp; Trayson; his adopted daughter (niece): Jessica Brown and other adopted children; his adopted family Irene Naytowhow, Anita (Tom) Parenteau, Andrene (Archie) Waditaka, John Naytowhow, Bob Naytowhow, Violet Naytowhow, Joseph Naytowhow, Andrea Mantee, Paul Ballantyne, Leonard Ermine, &amp; Darren Turner; his sister Delphine Ballantyne; his brothers Karl (Mary) Ballantyne, Percy (Emilie) Ballantyne, &amp; Leon (Mary) Ballantyne; his sisters-in-law Lorraine Ballantyne, &amp; Madonna Ballantyne; as well as numerous nieces &amp; nephews. Wesley is predeceased by his parents Stanley &amp; Ruth Ballantyne; his stepdad Rev. Percy Ross; his grandson Drake Charles; his brothers Clarence/Bad boy Ballantyne, Randall/Randy Ballantyne; his adopted brother Raymond Ballantyne; his grandparents Mr Abraham &amp; Amelia (Bird) Hunt, &amp; Mr Albert &amp; Margaret Ballantyne; his auntie Mary Ermine; his uncle Austin Ballantyne; &amp; his godparents Margorie &amp; Howard Bighead. A Wake Service will be held Thursday, November 24th, 2022 – Saturday, November 26th, 2022, at the Sturgeon Lake Community Centre in Sturgeon Lake, SK. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 26th, 2022, at 11 AM at the Sturgeon Lake Community Centre in Sturgeon Lake, SK. The Eulogy will be read by Sam Badger. The Officiant will be John Charles. The Drum Groups will be Iron Swing &amp; Young Eagle Cree. The Interment will take place at the West Central Cemetery in Sturgeon Lake, SK. “Morning, just a few thoughts: They say life is short &amp; precious. We are young &amp; foolish. Full of pee &amp; vinegar. Bulletproof and feeling like superman/women. Then we age. We get slower, we see life differently. Almost thinking like God, changing the world for the better. We slow down &amp; become just vinegar (ha-ha). Can’t jump high buildings, only the elevator. Superbeings are only fictional people that we want to be. My family &amp; friends just be yourself and live life as though there is no tomorrow. What we receive is to sustain life &amp; for others is a way of life.
