In loving memory of Sebastiano “Sam” De Paolis 94 years. Passed away peacefully November 23, 2022, at Pioneer Manor. Beloved husband of Maria De Paolis (nee Pagano) of over 66 years (predeceased). Loving father of Lina De Paolis (Ian MacMullin), Joe (Debbie), Mario (Mary Montgomery), and Lenny (Shelley). Much loved Nonno of Reta-Marie, Joel (Nicole), Bradley predeceased, Andrea (Seb Asselin), Darren (Isabella Sousa), and Marina. Great-grandfather of Olivia and Ruby. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe De Paolis and Pasqualina Schiavone, and sister Filomena. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews from Cerignola, Foggia, Italy. Sebastiano was born in Accadia, Foggia, Italy in 1928. He married Maria in Canada in 1952. Sebastiano and Maria often returned to Italy on vacation to visit his special nephew Carmine Palumbo (predeceased) and his wife Nunzia Archidiacono, and spent winters retired in Florida. Sebastiano loved vegetable gardening and making home-made wine. Sunday night dinners shared with family were extremely important to Nonno. A very special thank you to all the staff at Pioneer Manor for their outstanding care and compassion. Maria would have been so happy and relieved to know how much Sebastiano was loved and cared for in his home at Pioneer Manor and we are forever grateful. A Private Family Entombment will be held at the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
