Avis Bertha Wheeler, age 107, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022 at The Meadows, in Yarmouth. She was born June 17, 1915 in Glenwood Yarmouth County to George Raynard of Glenwood and Bertha Mariah Hurlburt of Raynardton.

She worked at Sears in Salem Massachusetts as well as at Salem Health Hospital. Avis also loved her cat Muffin and other cats very much.

She is survived by her son, George Lawrence Franklin (Sally) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Laurie) and Rebecca (Sonny) Wiseman; great grandchildren, Lauren Franklin, Colin Franklin, Alicia Franklin, Savanna Wiseman, Sara Wiseman.

She is predeceased by brothers, Elmer, Lloyd and Ernest, Vernon; sisters, Evelyn and Ruth; first husband, Lawrence Franklin; second husband, Gordon Wheeler.

Visitation will be at 1 PM and service will begin at 2 PM on Monday, Nov 28, 2022 in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell DeWare officiating.
