James “Jim” Edward Korman 77 of Harrison passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 12, 2019. James was born March 20, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Stephen and Olive (Whitehead) Korman. Jim had resided in Harrison since 1954, moving from Detroit. James graduated in 1961 from Harrison High School, Harrison. Mr. Korman was united in marriage to Ms. Linda Kay VanValkenburg on February 10, 1963 in Flint, Michigan.

Jim owned and operated Korman’s Body Shop of Harrison for over thirty-five years. He had served as Township Trustee for Greenwood Township for over twenty-one years, G reenwood Township Board of Review member for two terms, a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235 and member of the American Legion Post 404 S.A.L. of Harrison. Jim was very passionate of his farm, especially his horses, cattle, pigs and chickens. Jim also enjoyed mowing his yard, playing weekly Euchre games, reading and helping his daughter and son in-law at K-D Quik Stop/Duggan Propane of Harrison. His favorite time was spent with his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Korman is his loving wife of fifty-six years, Mrs. Linda Kay Korman of Harrison, two daughters; Krystal Duggan and husband Mike of Harrison and Kolette Korman and Mike Henry also of Harrison, seven grandchildren; Chelsea (Dylan) Mercury, Gavin Duggan, Savanna Duggan, Breonna Duma, Louis Frances Duma III, Jaslyn (Ron) Andrews and Kouper Payne, two sisters; Linda Fuhrman and Henrietta Fodera, two brothers; Clayton Bryan and wife Nancy and Melvin Bryan and wife Kim, plus many nieces, nephews and his best friend, Lester Vida. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stephen Carl Korman.

A Celebration of Life service for Jim will be announced in the spring of 2020. Inurnment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison.
