William Alton Luker
<p>Funeral service for William Alton Luker will be Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1:00PM at Peck Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Childs and Rev. Robert Weaver officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Friday, burial will be Red Oak Cemetery in Somerville. Mr. Luker was born on February 20, 1925 to Zed and Nettie Luker. He died on November 23, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. </p><p>William was a member of Highland Baptist church and a member of the Masonic lodge in Somerville. His favorite hobby was playing music. William was drafted in the army at 19 years old and served as a tank driver under General Patton during WWII. He retired as a machine operator for General Motors. Mr. Luker was preceded in death by his Parents, wife- Christine Luker, his brothers- Martin Luther Luker and Robert Wendell Luker, and sister- Corrine Idella Saylor. </p><p>Survivors include: </p><p>Two Daughters: Betty Drinkard (Allen) and Jo Clifton (Jerry) </p><p>Five Grandchildren: Michelle Weaver (Robert), Kristie Smith (Pete), Jonathan Clifton (Rachel), Melody Lillich (Tommy), and Mariah Hill (Lucas) </p><p>Ten Great Grandchildren: Isabella, Keira, Carter, Asher Clifton, Titus Hill, Gage Lillich (Sarah), Harmony Lillich, Harrison Smith, Ella Grace Smith, and Nathaniel Weaver. </p><p>Special Friend: Sue Oden </p><p>Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Clifton, Gage Lillich, Tommy Lillich, Harrison Smith, Pete Smith, and Nathaniel Weaver. </p>February 20, 1925 - November 23, 202202/20/192511/23/2022

I am very thankful the friendship and fellowship shared with Mr. Luker . He was the last person I knew that served in World War 2 . The passing of The Greatest Generation .
