Loretta Theresa Gabriel
<p>Our dear mother, Loretta Gabriel, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at the age of 92 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Loretta was an avid gardener. She loved the spring and summer of the year when she could tend to her garden, trees, and flower baskets. She was a kind, hard-working woman who was so proud of her family.</p><p><br></p><p>She leaves to mourn with many loving memories: daughters: Joan (Mac) Martin, Debbie (Gary) White, Bev (Lorne) Ward, Emily (Clayton) Gabriel, and Sandra (Frank) White; grandchildren: Kelly, Stacey, Jennifer, Jody, Gabrielle, Jessica, James, and Maria; great grandchildren: Tristyn, Claire, Donnie, Kieran, Howard, and William; sisters: Minnie (Bill) Lee and Ruby MacDonald; longtime friend Nina Gallant; and her 14 year old dog Ginger; as well as a circle of extended family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Loretta was predeceased by: husband Harold Gabriel; sons-in-law: Gene Martin and Donnie White; grandson Paul Martin; parents Molly and Dougald MacDonald; sisters: Mary Boeckmann and Evelyn Taylor; and brother Dan MacDonald.</p><p><br></p><p>Following her wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville on Tuesday, November 29th from 7:00-9:00 PM. A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, November 30th at 10:00 AM from St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street.</p><p><br></p><p>As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations in Loretta’s memory may be made to Guardian Angels for Stephenville Seniors. </p><p><br></p><p>The Family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the palliative care unit at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, as well as her homecare worker Patsy Frank, for their comforting care during her final days.</p><p><br></p>Obituary
