<p>Stephen Lawrence Shapiro, 53, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on November 23, 2022.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve was born on June 6, 1969 to Burton Shapiro and Susan Marion Shapiro in Smithtown, New York on Long Island. After Steve graduated from Newfield High School in 1988, he went on to study Health Care Management at Stony Brook University graduating in 1993. Steve was a lifelong learner, and his education continued throughout his lifetime at Long Island University (Class of 1998), Walden University (Class of 2010), and was currently studying Public Health Education and Promotion at Harvard University since 2020.</p><p><br></p><p>In 2006, Steve met the love of his life, Alison Giardiello. Their first date was on August 12th, the same date of Steve’s parent’s anniversary. Steve and Alison married on March 29, 2008 and had the opportunity to share their love of travel, cruises and especially Disney World.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve had a passion for business and longed to follow in his father’s footsteps in owning his own food business. While working for the Commission for the Blind, Steve was afforded the opportunity to open, run, and manage his own food business called Patriot’s Place located in a Veteran’s Home. Steve had a passion for music, had a flare for writing, and was the most avid and loyal New York Mets fan.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve was predeceased by his father, Burton Shapiro and his mother, Susan Shapiro. His paternal grandfather, Harry Shapiro and paternal grandmother, Evelyn Shapiro. His maternal grandfather, Joseph Marion and his maternal grandmother, Doris Marion. Most recently his aunt, “Tanta” Karen Marion Adams, and his uncle, “Unk” Mitchell Marion.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife, Alison Giardiello Shapiro, younger brother, Eric Shapiro, and baby sister, Elissa Shapiro. Sister-in-laws Jenny Shapiro, Stephanie Shapiro, Meghan Giardiello, Johnna Story, Cindy Giardiello, and brother-in-law, Matt Giardiello. Steve also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Anastasia Giardiello, aunt Arlene Bidnick, aunt Rebecca Marion, and uncle Milt Adams along with cousins Brett Adams, Jill Adams, Heather Marion, Brad Shapiro and Scott Shapiro, and his beloved niece, Maddie Shapiro and nephew, Sam Shapiro.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held Monday, November 28th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.<br></p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Diabetes Association.</p><p><br></p>

Stephen Lawrence Shapiro, 53, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on November 23, 2022.


Steve was born on June 6, 1969 to Burton Shapiro and Susan Marion Shapiro in Smithtown, New York on Long Island.
