<p>Glade Spring, VA.</p><p><br></p><p>Christine Hickey Wallace, age 91, passed away at her home Wednesday, November 23, 2022.She was the youngest of six daughters of the late Henry and Ann Hickey. She was a member of the Old Glade Presbyterian Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Wallace, whom she loved and she often said he kept her out of the old ladies’ home by taking care of her during her years of back pain, knee surgery, cancer surgery and just old age; her son, Herbie Wallace; sisters, Eula Gates, Louella Eller, Ruby Caywood, Roberta Owens and Evelyn Lowery.</p><p><br></p><p>Christine is survived by her daughter, Nancy Cook and husband O.D. Cook, Jr., step-grandson, Dr. Brett Cook (Leslie) and his children, Berkleigh, Addison and Beckett; her special little friends, namesake LeAnne Christine Crabtree and Reed Crabtree whom she loved; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Missy Gregory and Marian Reenie.</p><p><br></p><p>Christine was a school bus driver for Washington Co. for 23 years, hairdresser, held offices in various clubs and organizations. She was a wonderful cook and loved to have friends in to eat. She loved to play the piano or guitar, sing and entertain.</p><p><br></p><p>She left her home on earth, but she has gone to another with no more pain. She wants her friends and family to be happy and live life to the fullest and one day join her that beautiful home called Heaven where she will be with Lonnie and Herbie.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at Old Glade Presbyterian Church in Glade Spring with Rev. Tim Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 at the church prior to the service.</p><p>There will be a Celebration of her life and fellowship at the Presbyterian Church fellowship hall following the graveside service. Everyone is asked to please come by.</p><p><br></p>

Teenie was my bus driver for years. She truly cared about the safety of all the kids that were entrusted to her to get home safely. I still have fond memories of her. You will be missed.
