Folkert Robert Cramer Obituary

Folkert passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022 at Trinity Care Home in Penticton, after his battle with Parkinsons. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Doreen, son Robert Cramer (Stacey), daughter Denise Cramer, sisters Heide Myrthu (Dennis), Uta Preuss (Sigfred), Elke Carr (Warren), and brother, Gerd Cramer. Always the joy of his life, were his two grandsons, Patrick and Aaron.

Folkert was born in Sulingen, Germany on June 23, 1944 to Robert and Louise Cramer. At the age of 8 he immigrated with his family to Canada. His first two years were spent in Picture Butte; the family then moved to a farm in Woking. He finished his schooling in Woking and Spirit River. Folkert joined Woodward Stores in 1967 in Edmonton. In 1969 he married the love of his life Doreen. He was transferred from Edmonton, Alberta to Vancouver, BC in 1981. Attaining the position of Merchandise Manager, his travels took him all over the world. After making the big move to the South Okanagan, he enjoyed his new career in Real Estate.

Folkert was happiest watching football, taking his daily walks to the lake, spending time with family, hunting season, and most of all his grandson’s sleepovers. Folkert was a kind and generous man who touched the lives of many people and will be remembered for his easy-going and caring nature. You will forever remain in our memories and our hearts.

A special thank you to Trinity Care Home in Penticton and all the wonderful staff that Folkert cared for deeply.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran School in Penticton.
