Andrew Helterbrand, 40, of Indianapolis, Indiana was called home Monday, November 21, 2022.




He was born in Decatur, IL on Monday, November 15, 1982, the son of Arlen and Sharon (Cook) Helterbrand.




Andrew graduated from Central A&M in Moweaqua, IL in 2001. He then entered the United States Air Force where he trained in Tactical Aircraft Maintenance for the F15. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Force Training Ribbon.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Senior Airman from the United States Air Force after four years of service.




Post military he obtained an associates in Aviation Maintenance Technology.




Andrew was an avid fan of Notre Dame football, always a people person, he enjoyed practical jokes and laughter.  He built a large Funko Pop collection, most of them were Star Wars and DC Comics bobbleheads.




Surviving are his father, Arlen Helterbrand of Cookeville, TN, four siblings Mariea (Helterbrand) Best of Zionsville, IN, Lynn (Helterbrand) Barnhill and husband, Bill Barnhill, of Livingston, TN, Denise (Helterbrand)Koers- Austin and husband, Tommy Austin of Houston, TX, Arlen Perry Helterbrand and wife Laura (Richardson) of Liberty, IN, two nieces, Madison Best of Zionville, IN and Gabi (Barnhill) Thrasher of Livingston, TN, six nephews Alex Best of Moscow, ID, Mitchell Koers of Houston TX, Jack Koers of Jacksonville, FL, Austin Thone of College Corner, IN, Devin Thone of Paoli, IN and Bodie Helterbrand of Liberty, IN, and three great nieces.




He was proceeded in death by his loving mother, Sharon Kay (Cook) Helterbrand.




Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM, presided by Arlen Perry Helterbrand at Simplicity Funeral Care at 125 W. Sycamore in Zionsville, IN.  Graveside service will be at Salem United Methodist Cemetery on Kissell Rd. where he will be buried per his wishes by his loving mother. Friends and family are invited for a dinner at the home of Mariea Best in Zionsville following burial service.
