Cyrill Paul Herrman, age 85, of Hays, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Via Christi Village, Hays. He was born August 10, 1931 in Loretta, Kansas to Reinhold A. and Josephine (Kuhn) Herrman. He married Berniece Marshall June 9, 1973 in Las Vegas.

He retired from the US Air Force after a distinguished career that included serving in Vietnam. After his retirement from the military he started a second career for the State of Kansas Civil Service working as a Juvenile Detention Counselor. He was an avid Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan. 

He is survived by three sons, Dale Herrman of Colorado Springs, CO Kelly Barras of Kincheloe, MI and Kevin Herrman of Detroit, MI; a daughter, Carol Sue Welsh of Fairfield, CA; three brothers, Les and Roy Herrman of Hays and Leon Herrman of Colorado Springs; three sisters, Carol Danielson and Linda Mayberry both of Great Bend, KS and Doris Winslow of Hays; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, Elmer, Frank, Donald and JR Herrman and a sister, Edna Rohr.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday June 2, 2017 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Antonino, KS. Burial will follow services in the church cemetery with Military Honors courtesy of the Hays VFW Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Thursday 6 PM - 8 PM with a combined rosary and vigil service at 7 PM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Friday visitation will be 9 AM until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the TMP-Marian Scholarship Fund.
