Debra Kate Thompson

Debra K. Thompson, age 66, of Dixon Springs, IL passed away on November 23, 2022, at home peacefully surrounded by her family.

Debra was born in Humboldt, TN on December 5, 1955, to William and Maxine (Raines) Case. She married Gary W. Thompson on December 5, 1981. She was a Registered Nurse for forty plus years, working in both the home health field and hospital settings caring for patients and their families.

Debra is survived by her husband, Gary Thompson of Dixon Springs; three daughters, Heather (Levi) Gray of Dixon Springs, Melissa (Paul) Thurman of Paducah, KY, Jenny (Jeremy) Shell of West Paducah, KY; fourteen grandchildren, Michael Grey Edwards, Sara Edwards, Rebecca Edwards, Rachel Edwards, Caleb Thurman, Audrey Thurman, Abigail Thurman, Hunter (Jazlin) Moore, Damein Smith, Nicholas Shell, Emily Shell, Addison Shell, Madison Barfield, McKynlee Feazel; one great- grandchild, Jessilynn Cunningham; siblings, William Case, Francis Lawrence; aunt, Brenda Sowell; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many other friends and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her grandparents Viola Jaggers Sowell and Arthur Sowell, Clifton Burton Case; Sister, Valerie Case; uncle, Murray Sowell; and a precious grandchild.

Graveside service will be 11:00 am on November 28, 2022, at Roland Cemetery in Dixon Springs. Bro. Virgil Cox will conduct the service.
