Stephen J. Paul

<p>Steven Jeffrey Paul, 82, of Battlefield, Missouri, entered into rest on November 15,2022, at home, due to a sudden illness. Steve was born November 8, 1940, in Joplin, Missouri, to Noah and Virginia Paul. Steve attended Joplin Schools, graduating from Joplin High School in 1958. Following high school, Steve served his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, Steve returned to the Joplin area. Steve had a successful career with National Cash Register, from which he would retire. After retirement, Steve moved from his home in Webb City, Missouri, to Battlefield, Missouri, where he began a second career with The Missouri Lotto, as a field engineer.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve was a world traveler and his adventures would take him around the globe. He was a trendsetter, visiting his favorite place, Russia, during the Cold War, in a time not many Westerners traveled there. His favorite travel buddy was his little sister, Molli Bee, who enjoyed traveling to Russia with her brother. Steve had a variety of hobbies, including fishing, and photography. Steve was a dedicated genealogist, building a bridge between the present and the past. He was very tech-savvy and well-read. He had a dry wit and knowledge on a wide variety of subjects. Steve had a passion for collecting, encompassing everything from art to weapons. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his friends in the motorcycle community. </p><p><br></p><p>Steve is survived by his three children; Kristy Childs, Kansas City, Ks, Gregory Paul, Carterville, Mo, Clayton Paul, and wife Robyn, Joplin, Mo. Grandchildren: Savon Childs, Cameron Paul, Eden Paul, and Karly Paul. Great Grandchildren: Zayne Childs, Sihar Dawayne Childs-McDonald, Ryker Paul, and Thayah Paul. His brother, Edward Paul and wife Penny, Neosho, Mo, and sister Molli Augustus, and husband Galen, Burbank, CA. and many dear friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve is proceeded in death by his parents, Noah and Virginia Paul, his step-father, Wayne Putnam, his granddaughter, Stephanie Childs, and nephew, Jeffrey Paul.</p><p><br></p><p>Services will be Monday, November 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mason-Woodard Mortuary &amp; Crematory, Steve’s cousin, Rev. Pat Jeffers, will be officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary &amp; Crematory.</p>
