<p>Viola "Precious" Swayne departed this life on Thursday, September 30, 2021. She was born September 26, 1922 to Ernest and Ethel Washington in Selma Alabama.</p><p><br></p><p>Viola moved from Selma to Birmingham at a very young age. She was the oldest of six children.</p><p><br></p><p>In the eighth grade Viola moved to Gary, West Virginia. It was there she met the love of her life, Charles Swayne. They were happily married for 66 years. To this union five children were born.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1980 Charles and Viola relocated to Toledo, Ohio. They joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where she became a faithful member of the Missionary Society. She recently joined Walk the Word Ministry.</p><p><br></p><p>Viola has been called "Precious" for 51 years. This name was given her by her grandchildren. She is however known as precious to many friends and extended family members.</p><p><br></p><p>Viola was preceded in death by husband Charles, sons; Charles Ronald and Marvin, daughter; Paulette one great grandson, Khalil daughter in law; Barbara Swayne, both parents, three sisters and two brothers.</p><p><br></p><p>Precious leaves many to mourn her absence and cherish her memories. Daughters; Jacqueline (Richard) Johnson, and Toni Wade of Toledo, Ohio, sister; Edna Harris (Jimmy) Denver Colorado, six grandchildren; Rayna Davis (Dain), Tarra Wade, Michael Swayne, Kaja Lawson (Phil), Keisha Wade, Rashod Johnson (Nataki), six: great grandchildren; Ciara Swayne, Celeste Wade, Rashod Johnson, Jr. Antonio Johnson, Sterling Davis and Sasha Lawson, two great great grand children, Adrian Johnson and Onyx Smith, devoted nephew; Rickey and wife and Diane Washington, other nieces, nephews, family and friends.</p>
