<p>Mother Lena (Norwood) Kynard was born in Cleveland, Mississippi to the late Fred Norwood and Lena Clemons on July 3, 1933.&nbsp;She heard the voice of Jesus calling her home and she accepted the call on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Lakes of Monclova, a servant well done.</p><p><br></p><p>Mother Kynard was a product of the Cleveland, Mississippi School System. She attended Davis Business College majoring in business.</p><p><br></p><p>She accepted Christ at an early age in Mississippi. She was a faithful member of the Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the Late Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts. She was diligent in her service to the Lord and to her church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Counselor for the Pastors’ Chorus and Youth Choir, Member of the Fellowship Chorus and Mass Choir, President of the J.V. Prince Guild for over twenty-five years, member of the Mother’s Board and served as Chairman of the 50th Church Anniversary Celebration for the Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Mother Kynard work experience included LaSalle’s Department Store, Flower Hospital (Collingwood Blvd.) and retired in 1994 from Parkview Hospital where she worked in the business office. Her greatest employment was being a homemaker at heart and loved to take care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A great cook and had a green thumb loving her flowers.&nbsp;There are not words adequate enough to really express the skills she possessed, but God showered her with his blessings that she might be a blessing to others.</p><p><br></p><p>Mother Kynard was married to Deacon John Kynard for sixty-five years. They were the proud parents of two children, son, James N. Kynard (deceased) and Patricia Rainey.</p><p><br></p><p>To cherish her memory and to keep her legacy alive: husband Deacon John Kynard; daughter Patricia (Reggie) Rainey; grandchildren, James E. Kynard, Rev, Matthew J. Allen, Jr (Dr. Cara) and Patrice Edwards; great grandchildren, Ceaira Kynard, T’Mon Hall Jr., Za’Vion Jones, and Matthew J. Allen III(MJ); brothers-in-law, William (Bay), Jr. (deceased) Lillian Kynard, Douglas McArthur (deceased) Lillian Kynard, Frank (Beulah) Kynard, Joseph Kynard, Albert (Leslie, deceased) Kynard, Walter (Delores) Kynard, Morris (deceased) Yvonne Kynard; sisters-in-law, Lula (Norman, deceased) Harper, Minnie (Johnny) Brown, Mary (James, deceased) Edwards, Leila Powers, Ethel Scott, Flora Kynard and Willie Ann Evans; god children ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</p>
