Cassaundra Joyce Purple

<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Cassaundra Joyce Purple, age 30, of Grand Marais, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, November 20, 2022 at her home.&nbsp;She was born on September 11, 1992 in Marquette to Gerald “Jerry” and Mikki (Ward) Purple.&nbsp; Cassaundra grew up in Grand Marais and was a member of the Burt Township Class of 2010.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was lovingly known around town by the kids as “Babysitter” instead of Cassaundra as she helped care for many of them while growing up.&nbsp; Cassaundra waitressed in Grand Marais and then bartended in Howell and metro Detroit. &nbsp;&nbsp;While in Howell, her daughter Adelynn was born.&nbsp; Cassaundra was an excellent cook and she loved to be outside.&nbsp; Grand Marais was always special to her.&nbsp; She cherished the family time at Gram and Pa’s and she loved walking the beach in search of agates.&nbsp; Cassaundra loved her family dearly and, she was blessed with a good heart.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She is survived by her daughter – Adelynn Powell of Jackson, MI; mom – Mikki Geiger of Grand Marais; brothers – Scott Purple of Breckinridge, MI and Nathan Purple of Reed City, MI; stepsisters – Jodi (Brian) Merritt of Lake George, MI and Traci (Mike) Love of Owosso, MI; boyfriend – Justin Locker of Grand Marais; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.&nbsp; Cassaundra was preceded in death by her fathers Gerald Scott Purple and Norman Geiger, her brother Christopher Purple, and grandparents Harold Ward, Joyce Ward, Jerry Purple, and Helen Purple.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising.&nbsp; Visiting time with family and friends will take place from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.&nbsp; </p>
