Obituary

Ethel Louise Hamilton was born on April 30, 1923 to William and Gusse Rusk in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was an only child. As a child growing up, she was given the nickname "Kid Rusk". Her relatives and classmates would call her by that name even into her adult years.

In her late teenage years, she relocated to Toledo, Ohio after the death of her father. She lived for a while with her Aunt Pauline McGee, who was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Several years later, she married and raised a family. She held several jobs but primarily was a wife, mother and homemaker who thoroughly enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and dancing.

One day, Jehovah's Witnesses started calling at her door. In time she accepted a home bible study and eventually became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a faithful and devoted servant of Jehovah for over 6O years.

Her lave for our heavenly Creator and the promises of a better world free of sickness and sorrow touched her heart. In time, she was privileged to serve as a regular pioneer, a position she held for 15 years. She was always trying to share the Bible's Kingdom message with others. This resulted in some of her Bible students becoming baptized servants of Jehovah.

Louise had a love for people. As her son, I (John) recall that whenever she had a doctor's appointment, I had to arrive early to pick her up. On our way to our vehicle, she would stop and greet everyone that she came in contact with. Some of those meetings resulted in extended conversations and it was a challenge to get her to her appointments on time. I can truly say that she had a positive influence on people. I was always asked by others how my mom was doing.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gusse Rusk; son, Charles Campbell; granddaughter, Jessica Smith; daughters-in-law Lana Marie Kyles and Darlene Marie Fayson Hamilton. Left to cherish her memory are sons, John Kyles, Anthony [Rachel) Kyles, Marcus Hamilton, Cottrell Hamilton, daughter, Diane Smith, daughter-in-law, Joyce Campbell, 14 grandchildren, 2d great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

We truly miss her now but have the hope of seeing her again in the new world order Jehovah God has promised. The family would like to give special thanks to the medical doctors, nurses and caregivers who cared for her during her senior years.
