Wilma Jean Pegram Obituary

Wilma Jean Pegram was born to Pearl R. Simpkins and Wilbert Haines on February 6, 1949, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was raised with two brothers and one sister in a God-fearing home. Her Mother and Stepfather moved to Toledo, OH in 1957 where they started a new life. Wilma confessed her belief in Christ at a young age and began singing in the church choir.


Wilma attended Jesup W. Scott High School where she met a host of friends. Wilma started working at the age of 16 as presser at Crown Cleaners formerly located on Dorr St and eventually moved to Carpenter Cleaners.


She had a passion for reading. She read the Word of God daily, she also read novels and autobiographies. She loved going to the movies where she would stay and watch as many as 2-3 movies in one day. She also loved to cook. Everyone knew they were going to get a good meal when she cooked.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Hollingsworth and Stepfather, Charles Hollingsworth, Sr.


She leaves to cherish her memory, Father Wilbert Haines; daughter, Shari McCullough; Granddaughter, Mykela Norwood; Great Grandsons, Teddy and My’Shon Anderson. Three brothers, Charles (Shirley) Hollingsworth, Jr; Warren Hollingsworth; Bernard Griffin; one sister, Cynthia Webber; Special Friends, Mary Bean; Karen Cargile; Toni Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
