Darrell Melita (Hollingsworth) Hughes passed away on, November 19, 2021. She was born March 19, 1955 to the union of Clyde and Johnnie Hollingsworth.

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio , she attended St Ursula Academy, graduating from the University of Toledo and qualifying for Mensa membership.

She loved sewing, making quilts and cooking. She was most happy spending countless hours on the phone with granddaughter Jasmine Rutherford and loving Aunties from Tennessee and Georgia.

Darrell was preceded in death by her parents Clyde J. and Johnnie Dell Hollingsworth, Sr., grand parents, daughter; Helen Rutherford, grandson; Jerry Hughes, Jr., sister; Winifred Hollingsworth, brother; Clyde J. Hollingsworth, II and niece Antoinette Hollingsworth.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons; Rodney Hollingsworth and Jerry Hughes, grandchildren; Jasmine, Leroy Rutherford, IV and Melita Rutherford, Nakiah Hughes, and Shaqueenia Bates, great grandson; Brayden Bates, great granddaughter; Halo and Saniyah Perkins, siblings; Antoinette (George Banks), John, Michael and Mario (Tannuel) Hollingsworth; loving aunties, Jervie Smedley, Robbie Patton, Vereda Ann Taylor, Lois Walker, Renee Allmon, and Barbara Sue Modena; honorable mention, nephew Eric M. Hollingsworth and niece; Rosalynn Greenlee, whom she loved like her own children.
