Lena Mae Cabell Obituary

On Friday October 15, 2021 Lena Mae Cabell age 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister of Toledo, Ohio was called home peacefully by our loving savior with family members at her side. Born on May 14, 1943 to John and Johnny Rogers in Evansville, Indiana where she begot her first 3 children. Lena later relocated to Racine, Wisconsin in the 1970’s and birthed 5 children. Lena repositioned to her final home of Toledo, Ohio in 1989 but would return to both Racine and Evansville regularly. She loved life and traveling and would go without notice. Lena was the picture-perfect stay home mom and nurtured 8 but also worked intermittently as a home health provider serving the elderly passionately. During her career, Lena grew a personal tenderness for her patients and connected with them as family. She relished uplifting others and genuinely cared for people in need and the less fortunate. Everyone knew her as “MOM”.

Lena made friends easily and would talk to complete strangers as if she knew them personally and would welcome those with open arms into her home. She cherished reminiscing and telling stories of old with anyone and everyone while sitting at her kitchen table often into the late-night hrs. She was so easy and peaceful to talk to. Lena’s truest devotion and admiration was to her lifelong partner of 50 years Archie, her children and plethora of grandchildren who were the absolute joy of her heart. She would often take road trips saying she was picking up a grandchild or two during summer breaks but regularly would return home with several more regardless of room or space because she endeared them deeply. Lena was a mother hen, adored cooking and baking for her family during holidays especially Christmas time. Lena believed that family time, making memories and laughter were brightest where food is best. Her warmth, understanding, compassion and softhearted spirit will never be replaced and will be truly missed by all who felt Lena’s presence.

Lena was greeted in heaven by husband Archie Cabell, son Floyd Darin Morse (Cabell) and daughter Misty Lynn Waldon (Cabell), parents and two siblings. Surviving are her children; Marlena (Carl) Gilmore, James Cabell, Tracy (Joni) Cabell, Ronald Cabell, Anthony Cabell, Matthew (Traci) Cabell, over 50 grandchildren and dearest friend of nearly 50yrs Ermina Brandies.
